As EA revealed a few weeks ago, the Star Wars Battlefront beta will be open to all players, and will give fans of the franchise a chance to test a couple of the game’s multiplayer modes, as well as its offline offerings. It was no surprise, then, when Electronic Arts and DICE announced an open beta for one of this year’s most highly-anticipated titles, Star Wars Battlefront.
Granted, doing a beta allows the developer to test its servers and receive feedback from players, but running a beta is also an effective selling tool. This is especially true for multiplayer-heavy games. As game developers continue to look for ways to build hype for upcoming releases, one of the tactics that continues to gain traction is lettings gamers get a taste for the game via a beta.
